Location and How to Arrive

A few minutes from the sea and the pier of Vernazza, just a couple of mintues from the train station.

The best way to get to Vernazza is arriving by train because Vernazza is a car-free village.

Airports: Vernazza is in the region of Liguria in northwest Italy and close to the following cities with airports:

By train: “Cinque Terre Express” trains run every 30 minutes from La Spezia and Levanto to the five villages of Cinque Terre (warning: there is no single place called “Cinque Terre”!) The trains run every hour in the evenings.

Check the schedule and buy tickets online at the Trenitalia website (www.trenitalia.com/), through the Trenitalia app or in the train stations.  Remember to buy your ticket and stamp it (or do your check-in if you buy it online) before getting on the train to avoid fines.

By car: Exit the autostrada at La Spezia, drive into La Spezia and follow the signs for “Cinque Terre”. You will drive about 40 minutes on a panoramic winding road above the coastline. Follow the sign "Vernazza".

There are no gas stations in the Cinque Terre! Make sure you fill your gas tank in La Spezia or Levanto.

The Cinque Terre are car-free villages with limited parking outside the village centers. So, you can drive to and park in Vernazza or you can drive to La Spezia and take the train to Vernazza:
